Although Makinz Sports Promotions Limited was officially incorporated on 18 December 2018, the journey began in September 2018 when Makinz Football Academy was established with just 10 young players and two coaches.
The defining moment came during the COVID-19 lockdown in April 2020. Founder and CEO Akinboni Koleola Benson restarted the academy with just one player—Divine Kanu—at the Iron Bridge Training Ground in FHA, Lugbe, Abuja. What began as a one-player session grew into a squad of more than 45 players.
Today Makinz competes in the FCT Division One League and continues its vision of becoming one of Africa’s leading football development organisations.
